Matt Jennings is the executive director of editorial operations in the communications office at Middlebury and the editor-in-chief of Middlebury Magazine—which includes a print periodical, a website, an e-newsletter, and podcast and video channels. Under Matt\'s guidance, Middlebury Magazine has won numerous national awards for general excellence, editorial content, feature writing, and design; has been cited by education associations and journalism foundations for excellence in higher education reporting; and received national plaudits for its redesign by renowned creative director D.J. Stout. Matt is an award-winning feature writer and decorated teacher and public speaker. He has twice co-chaired an international conference for college and university magazine editors and regularly leads conference workshops, delivers keynote addresses, and conducts webinars on editorial and storytelling best practices. He has been recognized by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for workshop and conference teaching and public speaking excellence, and he has served CASE as a long-time faculty member of the Summer Institute for Communications and Marketing and as a term member for the Commission on Communications and Marketing.As Middlebury\'s executive director for editorial operations, Matt serves as a lead speech writer for the Office of the President; oversees and directs podcasting and video storytelling; and provides strategic editorial direction and oversight for Middlebury\'s editorial style guide, and printed and digital communications, which includes primary web pages, marketing collateral, and other editorial projects. Matt has been a member of the American Society of Magazine Editors and has served on judging panels that awarded National Magazine Awards for feature writing, essays and criticism, and public interest journalism.
