About Matthew Holland
I am a senior React Native engineer focused on helping companies to build scalable mobile apps.I love developing applications from the ground-up, and discovering ways to implement new technologies and use them to improve existing applications. I\'ve done some serious work in both back-end and front-end development, but I\'m currently focusing on building React Native mobile applications.I built several web applications from inception for an automotive consulting business in Arkansas, and then moved to Austin to dive into its fascinating tech scene, where I worked with bright minds at sumo.com to build smart marketing tools for small businesses via a full stack JavaScript platform. I also picked up a side gig to teach middle school students how to code, and then worked at Everlywell as a front end engineer to help people monitor and track their own health. I later decided to leverage my knowledge in React and began working on React Native mobile applications several years ago.I have worked on many React Native engagements throughout this time, including lead, senior, and architectural capacities. My favorite engagements are greenfield projects and leading the architecture of these apps from the ground up, where I can steer the engineering direction and use the latest React Native tools to build quality, scalable hybrid mobile apps.My specialties include: React/React Native, NodeJS, Express, Javascript, Redux, Redux Toolkit, Apollo Client, React Query, TypeScript, GraphQL, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and React Testing Library. Completed a full React Native mobile application rebuild from the ground-up of an existing native iOS/Android micro transit ride sharing mobile app. Also built out a new web dashboard from scratch for displaying routes to riders at various establishments.
