Hard Problems Group, LLC, is apolitical, except in narrative and information warfare efforts in support of the national interests of the United States.]At present, I provide system design (that is, cross-discipline high-level design) and embedded system design (that is, figuring out how to cram computers into other things) services via my primary employer- Lighthouse- and my own special servcies firm- HPG.I also design and produce improbable things in general- proof-of-concept (PoC) and prototyping for special applications, including physical rapid prototyping, primarily for small DoD/IC acitivities. I do this through my consultancy, the Hard Problems Group. Please note that work in this capacity is done on a time-available basis, and must be compartment-appropriate; projects large enough for, or otherwise more appropriate for, Lighthouse Insight need to go there (I\'ll need the help!) to avoid conflicts of interest. For very large embedded system projects specifically, particularly embedded power engineering projects, please allow me to recommend my former employer, USA Firmware.By trade and training, I\'m a senior software engineer with a Windows, Linux, and embedded device background, specializing in multimedia and multi-threaded development. I use virtualization and emulation to prototype, troubleshoot, and deceive systems and embedded devices. Because of my time at TechShop, I also have significant physical rapid protoyping experience, and try to stay current.Finally, I do some analysis and writing on emerging technologies, emerging threats, and other matters relevant to the national interest; in this capacity, I serve as a generalist with a few deep wells of specialization.
