About Matt Harris

Matt joined Reliable Robotics as a Senior Systems Engineer in March, 2025 with a focus on avionics system design, test, analysis, and certification.Matt was previously a Technical Fellow at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. As a member of the Electronic Systems Integration team in Avionics he served as a subject matter expert for radio navigation. Matt was awarded 2022 BCA Engineer of the year for helping keep all Boeing airplanes flying safely while 5G C-band deployed in the US. Matt was the technical lead for the 2024 BCA Team of the Year for efforts to address significant increases in regional GPS interference and spoofing. Matt was also principal investigator for several Product Development Technologies tasks related to future navigation capabilities for commercial airplanes.Matt received his BSEE and MSEE from Ohio University with an emphasis in antennas, electromagnetics, and navigation systems. Matt was a Graduate Research Associate in the Avionics Engineering Center at Ohio, where he developed and built a miniaturized, short-baseline, real-time, GPS-based position and attitude determination system for an uninhabited aerial vehicle while taking courses in Global Positioning System (GPS), inertial navigation systems, Kalman filters, nonlinear systems, and electromagnetics. Matt is the proud father of two boys, Emerson (2010) and Wilder (2007), and has been married to his wife, Molly since 2005. Matt plays the saxophone in some scenes around Seattle when he can get a chance. He also has an interest in weird science, theoretical physics, software defined radios, photography, and nature, among other things.
