ABOUT MATT HARMSWORTH

I am a Partner and National Finance Optimization leader for EY Canada. Over my consulting career, I have supported clients through numerous finance and business transformation, strategy, performance improvement, cost optimization, capital allocation, post-merger integration, carve out, ERP and EPM projects. Throughout this time I have worked with organizations across many industries (incl. Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Mining and Government & Public Sector) in North America, South America, Europe and Australia. Commencing my career in Australia focusing on risk consulting in the financial services and mining sectors. I worked closely with organizations to assist them to understand and mitigate against the unique risks their organizations were facing at a project and enterprise level. Upon completion of my Chartered Accounting designation (CA Australia), I relocated to Canada and have since focused my career on supporting organizations within the Energy, Utilities, Mining and Public sectors to define their finance vision and strategy and bring it to life. This has included extensive work relating to finance transformation, outsourcing, business process improvement, post-merger integration, asset carve out, operational efficiency and cost reduction initiatives. As a professional, I am passionate about helping clients to innovate and challenge their current ways of working, as well as coaching and creating an environment for my EY team members develop and grow.
