Global Patient Champion | Health Tech Speaker | Awards JudgeMatt is an award-winning patient advocate and global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) who has lived with Parkinson’s disease for over 50 years. Renowned for his energy, empathy, and authenticity, Matt has become a powerful voice in the healthcare community—bridging the gap between patients, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders.He has spoken at leading international congresses and health tech events including Wired Health, Financial Times Health Tech Europe, CogX, Webit, GIANT Health, and Founders Forum. In 2018 and 2019, Matt made history as the first patient to chair a commercial Pharma congress track at Eye for Pharma Europe in London and Barcelona.As the former host of Birds of a Feather, a monthly podcast produced by Havas Voice in New York, Matt explored the lived experiences of people with chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s, Haemophilia, Psoriasis, and HIV—bringing humanity and insight to complex health conversations.Matt is deeply engaged with both patient and HCP communities, often leading focus groups on topics like SwitchedONcology and The Importance of Happiness at Work. His influence extends into the world of recognition and advocacy, serving as a judge for prestigious awards including the Burberry British Diversity Awards, PM Society Communiqué Awards, and the Social Health Awards by Health Union.Outside of his advocacy work, Matt is a passionate sports enthusiast and adrenaline junkie. He has skydived, wing-walked, abseiled, and ziplined to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s charities—proving that courage and joy can coexist with chronic illness.
