Matt Dutton specializes in delivering value-based results and outcomes for our clients’ strategic business cases. Matt joined Freed Associates in 2001 and serves as Freed’s health plan practice leader and account executive for Kaiser Permanente. He has been serving Kaiser full-time for the past 15 years and has been a highly influential leader to Kaiser in the large program delivery space, with an emphasis on delivering on-time and on-budget while living up to benefit commitments made to the Capital Approval Committee and the Boards of Directors.In his career, Matt has served in leadership roles in more than fifty large program implementation success stories with payers, providers, and vertically integrated healthcare delivery systems utilizing both waterfall and scaled agile methodologies. Examples include strategic Board-level business cases, digital transformation initiatives, hospital and clinical workflow innovation, revenue cycle programs, electronic medical record systems (Epic), compliance initiatives (Medicaid, Medi-Cal Direct Contracts, ICD-10, Interoperability, Meaningful Use, Health Information Exchanges), clinical (HL7/FHIR) and financial (X12) data integration, vendor and system selections, claims systems, financial systems, clinical and middleware system integration, outsourcing and interim executive leadership positions.Matt began his career at Accenture (19••••98), helped build and launch the TriZetto Group (19••••01) and has been with Freed Associates for the past 25 years. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in managerial economics from University of California, Davis, a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification, as well as his PMP from the Project Management Institute.
