Managing Bloomberg’s low latency, high availability global network, counting over devices distributed across: Data Centers, Superhubs, Node Sites, Remote Offices, Customer Sites & Stock Exchanges. My responsibilities include:• Configuring, troubleshooting, impact mitigation & fault remediation of: o Juniper, Cisco, Cisco Nexus, Arista, Nokia, Cumulus, Arrcus devices o Routing protocols - OSPF, iBGP, eBGP, MP-BGP o MPLS – RSVP, LDP, Layer 3 VPNs o Layer 2 & 3 redundancy protocols o IPSec VPN tunnels o Linux Redhat servers o Ciena & Infinera multiplexing equipment over Dark Fiber infrastructure• Leveraging network monitoring tools (Grafana, Humio, Splunk) & building dashboards to investigate complex network issues, whilst monitoring longer term network performance.• Collecting & analysing packet captures.• Ownership of network delivery for several projects across EMEA, including: Node Site relocations, hardware refreshes, network capacity & resiliency enhancements; Customer installations, relocations & upgrades. • Leading EMEA Network Operations team’s onboarding of responsibilities from US Datacenter teams, via: on-site information gathering, producing documentation, delivering presentations, answering queries & supporting team members with fault tickets.• Joining customer calls to troubleshoot business-critical customer connectivity issues across EMEA, AMER & APAC.• Liaising with other internal departments daily, primarily: 1st Line Customer Support teams, On-Site teams, Telco Provisioning teams, Application teams, News & Broadcast teams.• Engaging Telco providers & network equipment vendors for escalation of faults, outages & RMAs.• Handover of faults & scheduled work to intra-regional off-shift teams & globally via Follow-The-Sun model.• Managing Internet connectivity – both internal users’ outbound & external customers’ inbound.• Supporting Public Cloud connectivity via direct connections to: AWS, Azure, GCP.
