About Matt Damico
Design Collective\'s Planning and Urban Design practice is focused on Placemaking. We create places for people; places that are engaging, equitable, and dynamic; and places that enhance connectivity, mobility, and quality of life. Our work is informed by an area\'s unique history, culture, environment, and economics. The places we create are diverse, vibrant, connected, and walkable, while simultaneously enhancing economic opportunity for the communities we serve. Across my 35+ year career, I have focused on crafting master plans, revitalization and implementation strategies, and design guidelines for developers, communities, non-profits, and local and state agencies. My work in Akron, OH, Albany, NY, Baltimore, MD, Houston, TX, Pittsburgh, PA, Washington DC, and many other cities and towns - large and small - has engaged of area residents and stakeholders, shaped more than 150 plans, and guided more than $5 Billion of private and public investment. The majority of my work focuses on revitalizing disinvested neighborhoods, reimagining aging corridors and downtowns, and reshaping obsolete and underutilized properties and transit station areas into vibrant, award-winning places.Speaking Engagements:M-NCPPC Speaker SeriesAPA National ConferenceRail~Volution National ConferenceSCUP National ConferenceCNU National ConferenceULI Smart Growth ConferenceASLA National ConferenceProfessional Affiliations:ULIAPACNUASLARegistration:ConnecticutIndianaMarylandNew JerseyNorth CarolinaPennsylvaniaTennesseeVirginia
