Matt is a commercially astute and experienced forensic accountant. His forensic career spans over 20 years. He primarily undertakes large-scale commercial litigation and international arbitration assignments as well as expert determinations, which are often the forum for transaction disputes. Matt has a first class honours degree in Mathematics and is a qualified chartered accountant and a Fellow of the ICAEW. Matt’s extensive forensic experience spans both national and international assignments, encapsulating a wide range of industries and sectors and reflecting claimed amounts ranging up to many billions of dollars. He has a particular focus on the Energy & Resources sector and, as an experienced director, leads Deloitte Forensic’s Energy & Resources disputes practice in the UK, bringing together a breadth of disputes, valuation, industry, economic and modelling expertise. Matt’s ability to clearly and concisely explain and respond to complex and challenging accounting and business issues has been developed over many years of advising clients and their legal teams in a wide variety of dispute scenarios. That clarity of message has been honed over many years of writing expert and advisory reports for clients and navigating the subtleties of the various dispute fora. Matt has been appointed as an expert in English litigation and international arbitration matters and has testifying experience. He has led specialist teams in these fora, as well as in expert determinations and mediations, providing active support and guidance to clients and their advisers.
