Matt Bouw is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s Tax Services practice in Detroit, Michigan, and the leader of the Federal Tax Advisory group for Michigan and Illinois. Matt practices in the area of federal tax consulting, with a particular emphasis in the areas of income and expense recognition, capitalization, inventories, and the research tax credit.Matt has practiced tax services for over 20 years and has been with Ernst & Young LLP for over 20 years. Matt has extensive experience servicing clients in the retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and financial services industries. Matt’s experience extends to IRS defense work in these areas as well, including both traditional IRS examinations and work with organizations in the IRS’ Compliance Assurance Program.
