ABOUT MATT BOUDREAU
I grew up in an east coast village of forty-three people. My town was small but my ambitions big. I wanted to leave the world a little better for my having been in it. But it wasn\'t inevitable that I would turn to politics and government. I studied history at Queen\'s University and spent the better part of two years in London. Returning to Canada, after a stint in sales, I launched a political blog. As a business it didn\'t last long, but it taught me that I didn\'t want to observe: I wanted to take part. I entered Ontario politics with little experience and no connections, but a strong work ethic, strategic thinking, passion and idealism. As a research analyst for the Liberal Caucus Service Bureau I developed an instinct for media relations which served me well handling issues for the Minister of Health in a minority government. As Legislative Assistant I had extensive experience with the legislative process, working with close to a dozen Bills and multiple Parliamentary committees. I have written speeches, press releases, and messaging. As Policy Advisor I have worked closely with organizations, executives, and government relations professionals on complex and stakeholder-intensive files. I have provided strategic and tactical policy and communications advice to the Minister. I have deep understanding of political, regulatory, and legislative processes. I am an excellent writer. I am curious about the world. I read when I walk. I have big ideas. I remain an idealist. And I still want to leave the world a little better than it was.
