The Imagination Factory is where dreams become reality. We envision a world where everyone’s work is aligned at the intersection of purpose, joy, and justice. Our mission is to help individuals and organizations unlock their creative capacity to close the gap between their ideas, action, and impact. We do this by providing programs and experiences that accelerate opportunities to imagine and create a more just world for families. The Imagination Factory provides four programs that are designed to achieve our mission. Our programs include the Untethered Convening, Creative Clusters, Accelerator, and Leadership Coaching. We work with people who want to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from a vibrant ecosystem for innovation that is focused on advancing justice.

ABOUT MATT ANDERSON
In September 2022 I took the leap. I left my job of 11 years as a nonprofit executive responsible for the largest foster care program in North Carolina. Earlier that year I came to realize I was suffering from values fatigue, meaning my values weren\'t aligned with my work and I wasn\'t in right relationship with myself or the people I serve. I had to stop, stop contributing to and benefiting from a system that harms and oppresses people. So, I liberated myself to be free to imagine and create a life I love that is in pursuit of purpose, joy, and justice. In 2023, I founded Proximity Design Studio as a media production and strategic consulting company that is focused on investing in the well-being of parents to keep families together. Proximity draws on my passions and experience in public policy, organizational leadership, program development, authentic engagement, and using creative media and storytelling to create change. Among other things, I’ve been a lobbyist, award winning documentary film producer, and I’ve produced three podcasts. My current podcast is called The Proximity Process and is available everywhere. On January 1, 2025, I closed Proximity Design Studio to go all in on Imagination Factory. Our vision is that everyone should be able to live and work at the intersection of purpose, joy, and justice. Our work should put us in right relationship with ourselves and the people we serve. We run programs for creative disruptors that help them close the gap between their ideas and the action they need to take to have the impact they want.
