ABOUT MATT AMITRANO
I have worked on Iraq energy issues for 23 years. The focus has primarily been in the upstream oil and gas sector (especially political risk analysis), but have also looked at the legal, regulatory, and environmental issues affecting the development of the oil, gas, and power sectors in Iraq.On September 26, 2012, I was featured on C-Span from an event entitled \"Oil and Politics in the Persian Gulf\" at my alma mater. These links should work, but be aware that C-Span has put the wrong name in one link: or June 17, 2014, I spoke at the CWC Iraq Petroleum 2014 conference in London: The topic of my presentation was on Iraq\'s oil industry and environmental issues. On October 28, 2014, I spoke at the CWC Basra Oil, Gas & Infrastructure 2014 conference in Istanbul. The topic of my conversation was on the potential challenges to financing oil infrastructure development in southern Iraq.On June 28, 2022, I spoke at the Washington Institute for Part 3 of the series The KRG Turns Thirty: The discussion was on the KRG\'s oil and gas industry including disputes with Baghdad.
