About Matt Albinger
I served in the Illinios Air National Guard and worked nearly full time to pay my way through college after having worked in the retail, system design and installation of automotive aftermarket electronics prior to that. My professional experience started at General Dynamics Advanced Technology Systems as an electronics tester, after which I went to Freightliner Custom Chassis to work on the electrical systems of front engine school bus chassis. After gaining valuable knowledge about multiplexing, harnessing design, and interfacing between differing areas of the electrical system I learned the value of having expertise as a system integrator. This set the stage for me to take control of the electrical system for the Indian Motorcycle Company. In the time since I have moved to Husqvarna I have been able to use my system integration knowledge to develop an electrical system that will provide an exceptional customer experience by allowing an unprecedented access to electrical system status that will benefit the end user, service technician, and the company itself. I have also enjoyed conceiving of new sensors and other devices that can cost-effectively benefit all parties in conjunction with this electrical system. My goals are to manage and help mentor engineers, or continue in the highly interesting field of system engineering. I have extensive experience anticipating the product demands and designing flexibility into systems that allow shortened timelines once (and IF) those needs are identified by management. Another expertise is coordinating between software, PCB HW engineers, and test engineers to help keep information flowing, but (more importantly) that said information is presented without potential confusion. The customer experience is always at the forefront of my mind. Specialties: Harness design, system integration, various automotive communication protocols (CAN2.0B, LIN, J1939, J1587.), display development, supplier discovery/evaluation and management (per project), project management, specification development, timeline creation, and the typical PowerPoint presentations. I am a firm believer in communication between departments. This has allowed me to enable cross-continent coordination on multiple occasions and is a true value add for the company in most cases. CATIA, OrCAD, MS Suite of products (including Project & Visio), Adobe Illustrator basics, embedded electronics, programing embedded microprocessors via J-Link, more.
