Established Catch22’s first R&E function, putting in place governance frameworks and processes to effectively manage research grants across a nationwide multi-programme portfolio- Manage a portfolio of mixed methods R&E grants commissioned to external evaluation teams- Design monitoring & evaluation (MEL) frameworks and tools aligned with programme strategies and provide technical guidance and capacity building on MEL- Contribute evidence to policy and advocacy work i.e. commissioning strategic research aligned with policy developments and supporting parliamentary submissions and campaigns- Support strategic funding and partnership bids through the development of evidence, theories of change, and monitoring approaches aligned with donor expectations- Build relationships with UK government stakeholders to support evidence-driven programming and evaluation- Represent Catch22 in external research forums and advisory groups.Key achievements- Raised over 50k in research funding through partnerships and individuals giving in 6 months- Improved impact reporting and embedded learning processes across programmes, and oversaw several impact evaluations i.e. evaluation of the National Leaving Care Benchmarking Forum and Care Leavers Into Careers programme- Oversaw research projects that directly informed UK government policies directed at preventing children and young people from being involved in violence and exploitation.

ABOUT MATILDE CHORA
Interdisciplinary research and monitoring specialist advancing the rights of vulnerable populations across the UK and Global Majority countries, in both grantmaking and civil society organisation contexts. My background includes leading complex research and evaluation initiatives, building the monitoring capacity of organisations, supporting evidence-based advocacy strategies, and delivering capacity-building support to grassroots organisations. Through this work, I have developed deep expertise in issues such as irregular migration, forced labour, human trafficking, exploitation, violence against women and girls, poverty alleviation, offender rehabilitation and employability.I have commissioned and managed research projects focusing on topics related to modern slavery across the globe, most of them located in Brazil and Sub-Saharan Africa. I have also built the capacity of over 70 grassroots organisations worldwide to measure and communicate their impact. I am currently working for Catch22, contributing towards increasing research & evidence within the offender rehabilitation, employability, exploitation and youth violence fields in the UK.
