ABOUT MATIAS SANCHEZ
I am a structural geologist and Managing Director of Fault Rocks Inc, with over 20 years of experience in mineral exploration and research on porphyry Cu, IOCG, epithermal and orogenic gold, and sediment-hosted systems. Since 2014, I have managed and delivered over 80 consulting projects to major mining companies, junior explorers, and research institutions. My work spans the Andes, North American Cordillera, Western Tethyan, and Appalachian orogens, applying structural geology to mineral exploration. I have a geology degree from Universidad de Concepción, Chile, an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Royal Holloway University of London, and a postdoctoral fellowship at MDRU, University of British Columbia. My expertise includes structural and mineralization mapping, tectonic interpretation, and integrating geological data, geophysics, satellite imagery, and elevation models. I also publish research and teach professional development courses for the mining industry.
