ABOUT MATHIEU CORTEEL
I received my M.Phil. and Ph.D. in philosophy from the Sorbonne University. I am a postdoctoral researcher in the CrisisLab at Sciences Po Paris, Institut Imagine and Affiliate to MIT Critical Data.I am the author of « Ni dieu ni IA, une philosophie sceptique de l’intelligence artificielle » published by les éditions La découverte.At Sciences Po : I am currently working on a method to improve the anticipation and management of crisis from the perspective of social science, sociology of organizations and ethics.At Institut Imagine : My work focuses on a philosophical investigation of the knowledge and experience of rare genetic diseases, with the goal of writing a book on the subject for CNRS editions.At MIT : I am participating in research on the impact of AI in healthcare with Leo A. Celi. Several articles are in progress on the implementation of AI in hospitals, creativity, and modeling epistemic humility. I recently completed an Arthur Sachs Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard, which allowed me to conduct historical research on the numerical method in medicine and to teach for the Harvard courses \"Vaccines: History, Science and Policy\" and \"Medical Ethics and History\" as an assistant to Pr. Allan M. Brandt and Pr. David S. Jones.During the covid-19 crisis, I conducted postdoctoral research at Sciences Po on the impact of epidemiological models in public health management. In 2020, my first book Le Hasard et le Pathologique was published by Presses de Sciences Po.Areas of Research: History and Philosophy of Science, Science and Technology Studies, Medical Ethics, Social Sciences, Sociology of organizations.
