About Lambert Mathias
I build AI systems that transform complex real-world signals into structured understanding and action. Today, I focus on advancing the next generation of agentic AI for enterprise systems at JPMorgan Chase—designing architectures where perception, memory, reasoning, and tools come together to operate reliably at scale. My work is centered on memory-augmented systems, multimodal intelligence, and production-grade AI that can function in real-world environments under constraints. Previously at Meta, I led research on multimodal AI and memory systems at Reality Labs, including Project Aria’s “super memory” architecture and proactive modeling for Ray-Ban smart glasses. I also worked on AI integrity, building large-scale retrieval-augmented systems for content understanding and safety that operated at internet scale. At Amazon Alexa AI, I was a Principal Scientist and part of the team that built Alexa’s multi-domain natural language understanding, enabling cross-domain conversational context and powering a large ecosystem of skills and developers. Earlier, at Nuance Communications, I worked on mobile speech systems that contributed to platforms like Apple Siri, focusing on robust speech recognition in real-world environments. Across these experiences, a common thread in my work is designing systems that bridge perception and intelligence—combining multimodal inputs, structured memory, and reasoning to enable AI that can understand context and act effectively. I’m particularly interested in: Agentic AI and tool-using systemsMemory-augmented architectures and long-context reasoningMultimodal perception and groundingScalable AI systems deployed in real-world environments
