About Mathew Joseph
Most RCM products are built to report on the problem. I built one to eliminate it.Twelve years ago I watched revenue cycle teams drown; not from lack of effort, but from tools that reacted to denials instead of preventing them. That observation became my career. At Optum, I owned a $40M–$50M SaaS portfolio across Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA populations, and I made one deliberate bet: prioritize denial prevention upstream. The result was 95% first-pass claim acceptance across 50+ health systems and $18M recovered in annual provider revenue.I don\'t just manage roadmaps. I manage revenue outcomes. That meant building my PM org from 0 to 8 in 12 months, repositioning our products around CFO-facing ROI instead of ops metrics, and partnering with sales to cut enterprise cycle times by 40%. When I shifted our FHIR/HL7 integration strategy to embed real-time clinical data directly into workflows, provider adoption followed, and so did pipeline. What I bring that\'s unusual: I\'ve sat on both sides of the claim. I understand how payers adjudicate and how providers fight back. That dual fluency changes how I design products: less feature shipping, more workflow redesign at the source of leakage.Right now I\'m incubating KACI, an AI-enabled RCM automation platform targeting denial reduction and first-pass yield for small and mid-market providers, a segment the enterprise vendors have never truly served. I built a working prototype in weeks to validate the hypothesis before committing to engineering. That\'s how I approach all product bets: fast validation, ruthless prioritization, outcomes over output.I\'m actively exploring Director and Sr. Director of Product roles in healthcare SaaS, digital health, and AI-driven RCM, particularly with teams building in revenue cycle, revenue integrity, risk adjustment, or interoperability. If you\'re scaling an RCM or AI healthcare platform and want someone who\'s already done it at enterprise scale - let\'s talk.
