ABOUT MATHEW ROWLANDS
I am a Reliability Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the chemical industry on a top tier COMAH site. I am focused on improving the mechanical and production reliability of all plant equipment and assets.I support reactive breakdown activities and planned preventative maintenance, as well as implementing long-term reliability solutions. I have a skillset in rotating equipment, mechanical seals, ball mills, reactors, conveyor systems, valves and pipe fabrication.Key tools I use include; Condition Monitoring Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance, Lean and Agile manufacturing, Weibull analysis, Kaizen, Total Preventative Maintenance and Six Sigma. I provide detail to work requests to ensure they contain technical data and direction to execute high quality repairs, services and replacements. This includes writing maintenance procedures and quality plans for internal and external maintenance personnel and contract companies. I have a background as a Maintenance Technician; experienced in the installation, maintenance and service of a wide variety in plant equipment. This has built the foundation for my engineering development and understanding of the plant assets.I have shown leadership skills in my role as a Maintenance Supervisor; including co-ordinating all technical disciplines and support trades to ensure the safe and efficient execution of maintenance. As well as co-ordination of planned maintenance and breakdowns, I supervised critical path activities during plant shutdowns where scheduled completion of maintenance would directly affect the production of the plant.Success achieved throughout my BTEC and HNC qualifications associated with my apprenticeship inspired me to continue my education and complete a BEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Once I successfully received my BEng, I continued with part-time education alongside my full-time employment to complete a MSc in Engineering Project Management. I hope to further my education through a MSc in Lean and Agile Manufacturing. This will help me to achieve my future goal to become a Charted Engineer with the IMechE.
