ABOUT MATEO SALAZAR

I am an undergraduate Pre-Business student at Seattle University planning to major in Finance with a minor in Economics. I am particularly interested in financial analysis, market behavior, and how economic forces shape business decision-making at both the firm and global level. I’m driven by a strong analytical mindset and enjoy applying quantitative and strategic thinking to real-world financial and business challenges. My experience includes serving as a volunteer manager and intern with the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce, where I supported local business engagement and helped organize teen entrepreneurship events, gaining exposure to budgeting, operational planning, and community-based economic development. In high school, I was an active DECA member, qualifying for state multiple times and developing hands-on experience in business strategy, financial decision-making, and competitive analysis. At Seattle University, I continue to build my financial knowledge through involvement in investing-related clubs, where I explore portfolio management, stock market trends, and the broader economic factors that influence financial markets. Outside of academics, I am a lifelong soccer player and currently participate in Seattle University intramural soccer, which has strengthened my discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills.I am eager to pursue internships and professional opportunities in finance that allow me to apply analytical skills, economic reasoning, and collaborative leadership in fast-paced environments. I welcome connections with students and professionals interested in finance, economics, and long-term value creation.
