ABOUT MATEO FLORES

I am a writer and impact driven administrative professional with a passion for identifying and uplifting the next generation of writers and authors. My passion for storytelling in all of its forms has led me to pursue diverse and impactful experiences in screenwriting, narrative fiction/nonfiction, media critique, copywriting, and social media writing.Most recently, I worked as an Agent Trainee and Executive Assistant at Paradigm Talent Agency, where I maintained two high-volume desks of talent agents, reviewed client contracts and deal memos, and provided feedback on client creative materials. Previously, I developed the curriculum for a month-long screenwriting workshop for middle school students, discussing the foundations of plot, character, world building, dialogue, and spec script writing. I also review and provide feedback on student scripts, and aligned the workshop with state and national education standards. Additionally, I wrote tweets, LinkedIn posts, and blogs for Qnary, a social media content creation company, to match clients\' voice and brand strategy.My long-term career goal is to tell underrepresented stories for scripted television, and to learn as much as I can about writing as a craft and art form. I welcome all opportunities to network around film/television, narrative storytelling, and of course, writing. I have a strong attention to detail, editorial skills, and proficient administrative skills. I graduated Cum Laude from Ithaca College a semester early with a BFA in Writing for Film, TV & Emerging Media. While at IC I received the Faculty Award for Excellence, a POC Academic Achievement award. In my writing endeavors, I was recognized as a quarterfinalist in the Killer Shorts Screenplay Competition.
