About Mason Eill
Curiosity has always been one of my defining qualities. It allowed me to develop a love for and excel in math and science throughout my early education. It led me around the country in my college search. It led to some indecision when it came to picking a major. Once I decided on UNC, however, my curiosity led me to explore and fall in love with a completely new concept to me: writing. In high school and earlier, I saw writing papers as tedious and unrewarding. My college journalism classes have allowed me to use my curiosity to investigate, research, and comment on issues that are important to me. Discovering my passion for journalism has been one of the most important experiences of my college career. I have loved being able to embrace my curiosity and turn it into meaningful storytelling. Whether I’m asking questions, digging deeper into a topic, or figuring out the best way to communicate complex ideas, I am driven by a desire to understand the world and assist others in doing the same.As I continue to grow as a journalist, I’m excited to keep learning, challenging myself, and using my curiosity to inform, connect, and create meaningful work.
