From my own experience being a foreign exchange student back in late 70’s, and relocating to Portland, Oregon in the early ‘80s, it is crucial for flexible minds from different countries to be out of their comfort zones and travel to uncharted territory. This environment will be filled with challenges in new systems, structures, values and lifestyles. They should experience hands-on, high-impact learning to test their knowledge and skills. This is why I have a strong passion for international exchanges and collaborations in higher education and the business field.
