ABOUT MARZETTA GOLDEN

I have been employed in the Criminal Justice field for approximately 24+ years and possess skills in establishing and maintaining peace/order in a school-based setting, participate in community activities and establish/maintain rapport with school administrators. Use effective communication skills to successfully control irate individuals/crowds to alleviate potential crisis situations before onset. I enjoy working with the public and creating positive contacts to ensure quality service to the community in which I serve. I have also had to make lawful arrest, transport, and attend court proceedings for arrested individuals (juvenile and adult). I take great pride into the field in which I serve, and reflect a positive role model for my students I mentor daily. I have facilitated Restorative Justice conferences between offenders and victims and their respective support groups. I am also CIT for Youth and NASRO trained and able to assist students in crisis situations. I earned an Associate of Science degree at IUPUI (Indianapolis,IN) in Criminal Justice in 2006. I attended Indiana Law Enforcement Academy(ILEA) in 2006, and became a Certified Tier 1 Police Officer. I returned in 2012 to earn my Primary Instructor Certification, and returned again in 2014, earning a psychomotor skill certification as an Emergency Vehicle Operation Instructor. I am currently an Sergeant/Instructor for Indianapolis Public Schools Police Department. My ability to multi task situations under stress has evolved my mental sharpness as an Officer. I constantly strive for excellence and look forward to new challenges in the Criminal Justice field.
