ABOUT MARY STANTON

For over 8 years, I\'ve fostered creative collaboration with my teammates and my approach to research has continuously evolved to reveal the most valuable insights. Product Design requires an in-depth understanding of business needs, and I\'ve helped develop innovative product strategy to pair customer needs with stakeholder goals. I\'ve been designing in general for around 12 years but got into Product Design in 2015. I would say my favorite part of the full UX cycle is conducting Usability Testing. I design and prototype my most educated guesses via research and the reveal of its\' success or failure is so enlightening; it\'s the crux of the value of UX. My approach to designing has been different at different organizations; I\'ve both created perfect specs and also moved faster to get basic concepts to design-minded developers and worked closely with them through their process to realize my vision. I always follow up on developed designs to test their efficacy through tools like Mixpanel and Pendo. I\'ve also worked with Appcues and Whatfix to create helpful onboarding interactions for new or returning users. While at iHeart Radio, with millions of users of our products, I used usertesting.com and crafted guided and live testing with our users. Otherwise, at my collective 7 years of B2B work, I\'ve developed close relationships with our smaller subset of users and designed and conducted usability testing that made them feel empowered and valued while revealing our best next steps. Heuristic Evaluations have also been super helpful at those B2Bs in effort to not burn out our users. I\'ve worked in Immigration/ Law, Retail Analytics, Entertainment and 3D / Construction and while I\'m partial to Education or Healthcare sectors for my next venture, I\'m very open to any industry as I\'ve found deep and profound passion at every company I\'ve been a part of. I\'ve worked as a solo and founding designer, a leader of junior designers, on a larger team of 14 and a smaller team of 3. I\'ve enjoyed all sizes of design teams and have no preference there.
