About Mary Simon
With over three decades of dedicated service in the non-profit sector, my journey has been fueled by a passion for empowering individuals and communities. I believe that when a nonprofit is at the table with public and private organizations that real change can happen. I also believe that it is the responsibility of the paid and volunteer leaders of a nonprofit to ensure that the organization is strong and focused on its mission. This includes fiscal accountability, programs that utilize best practices and organizational cultures that value and celebrate those doing the difficult work. Finally, I believe in the value and power of collaboration with other nonprofits. I oversaw the successful merger of two smaller nonprofits which led to a dramatic expansion of our services from one county to eight counties and from budgets of under $1 million to a combined budget of over $5 million in 10 years.
