ABOUT MARY PAXTON

I am a senior nonprofit executive with more than 25 years of experience leading fund development, advancement operations, and grants management to drive organizational growth and long-term sustainability. Over the course of my career, I have built and led high-performing teams, developed multimillion-dollar fundraising strategies, and cultivated partnerships with individual philanthropists, foundations, and corporate partners that expand opportunity and create lasting community impact.My leadership encompasses setting strategy, optimizing operations, managing complex donor and grant portfolios, and working closely with executive leadership and board members to align fundraising priorities with organizational goals. I also collaborate across departments to integrate development, marketing, and program strategies, ensuring measurable outcomes for funders and the communities we serve.In addition to my professional leadership, I am committed to advancing the nonprofit sector through teaching and mentorship. As an Adjunct Professor in John Carroll University’s Master of Nonprofit Administration program, I prepare future nonprofit leaders with the knowledge and tools required to navigate today’s complex philanthropic landscape.My service extends beyond the workplace through active roles with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the ACLU of Ohio, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland. These experiences continue to reinforce my belief that philanthropy is a catalyst for equity, resilience, and transformation.I bring a proven record of designing and implementing strategies that not only achieve ambitious fundraising goals but also strengthen organizational infrastructure, enhance donor stewardship, and foster inclusive philanthropy.
