ABOUT MARY KATHRYN EWART

My insurance career is completely backward from the typical agent. Most agents start out in the field as a producer and eventually grow their agency or will go to the “home office” to share their field experience. Not me. I started out on a project team charged with “building an agency” for one of the top banks in the country. I transitioned to Human Resources / Training and earned my Masters Degree that concentrated in performance management. A rewarding career was developing, and then it came tumbling down. When “The Great Recession of 2008” hit, I saw my Life and Health license as an opportunity… to build my own business. Today, my practice has grown from a single focus to utilizing one insurance solution in multiple capacities. This growth is attributed to my personal experiences such as my grandfather losing his business due to an accident, unexpected deaths of my father and brother, and my mother’s, as well as my own catastrophic medical events. I know what happens to personal finances in these situations because I’ve experienced them first-hand. I expanded my practice to include claims management, as a result from managing my mother\'s health insurance claims, a fire in my house, and a commercial fire with a local nonprofit. I saw first-hand how complicated the claims process is.and I\'m a licensed agent!
