About Mary Grace Fields
I love learning and continuously seek opportunities to grow beyond the classroom. I have a deep passion for exploring the intersections of business, creativity, and communication—and for applying what I learn in real-world contexts. During my time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I’ve expanded my skill set and become involved in organizations that challenge and inspire me.As a Media and Journalism major with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, I’ve developed a strong foundation in storytelling, brand strategy, and audience engagement. Complementing this, I’m pursuing a minor in Business Administration at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a minor in Entrepreneurship through the Shuford Program, where I’ve strengthened my skills in strategy, innovation, and leadership.I’ve also been actively involved in Carolina Women in Business (CWIB), UNC Finance Society, Smart Women Securities, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, where I’ve deepened my understanding of collaboration, strategic thinking, and professional development. Participating in programs like the Investment Banking Bootcamp at Kenan-Flagler helped me gain valuable insight into financial services and business strategy. In Summer 2025, I had the opportunity to intern in Nairobi, Kenya, where I gained firsthand experience at the intersection of communications, education, and community development. Originally planning to work with a microfinance subsidiary, my team pivoted to support Cultiva Kenya and Comet House Schools, a social enterprise focused on education and holistic preparation. There, I helped develop communications materials, assisted with marketing strategy, and engaged directly with local educators and students—an experience that strengthened my adaptability, cross-cultural collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Whether I’m developing a communications strategy, coordinating a team initiative, or building community connections, I bring an enthusiastic and mission-driven mindset to every project. As I continue to grow personally and professionally, I’m committed to leveraging my experiences in media, business, and entrepreneurship to make meaningful, purpose-driven impact. I thrive in dynamic environments where I can apply creativity, organization, and strategic thinking to drive results. I’m always eager to connect with others who share that passion.
