About Mary Ellen Balchunis

I am an Outreach Specialist and Registered Apprentice Navigator for the PA CareerLink. I find jobs and access career resources for people with barriers. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and outreach in the fields of political science, public administration, and ethics. I hold an MPA and a PhD from Temple University, and I was a Fulbright Scholar in Sweden. My core competencies include diversity and inclusion, education, and fundraising, which I have applied in various roles and projects throughout my career. I am passionate about promoting equal opportunity, enhancing public service, and building equity in our society. I have served on several boards and committees, and I have received multiple awards and honors for my work, such as the Pioneer Award, the President\'s Award, and the ASPA Award for Ethics in Government. I am also a proud member and Vice President of the League of Women Voters of the Capital Region, a mother of a Columbia University graduate student in the School of Film, and a rescue dog mom.
