Hello, I’m Maryel! Right now, I’m helping stand up operations (people, finance, legal, IT, and more!) with an incredible team at Brisk Teaching.Previously, I spent eight years building and leading operations teams supporting Education Technology work at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and before that, Facebook. I started my career as a fifth grade teacher: it was a crash course on how to empower and motivate people, and how exceptional leaders and intentional culture positively impact organizations.At work, I’m happiest when I am helping people I admire get meaningful stuff done. Bonus if I get to learn new things! I’m good at bringing structure to messy or amorphic problems - first clarifying the problem and goal, then bringing together the right stakeholders to figure out where we are going and the plan for getting there. And I love collaboratively getting that work done :)
