About Mary Clare mc McFadden

I’m Mary Clare (or MC) and I am currently the Director of Talent Acquisition at Parallel Bio, where I’m excited to build the function from the ground up and get a true taste of life at a mission-driven startup I deeply believe in.Before this, my main two clients were Parallel and Westview Advisors. I worked closely with Parallel Bio\'s co-founders in a strategic and operational capacity, supporting HR, branding, communications, and more. At the same time, I partnered with a managing director I previously collaborated with at Korn Ferry to help get their new executive search firm off the ground, focused on C-suite placements in the media and entertainment space. It was a dynamic, entrepreneurial period — helping to develop talent pipelines, onboard new hires using tools I created, and place exceptional candidates.This chapter was made possible by the incredible people and connections I’ve been fortunate to meet throughout my career. I\'ve worked for world-class organizations like BCG and Korn Ferry, which gave me a wide-ranging foundation across executive search, full-cycle recruiting, strategic planning, DEI, marketing and employer branding, internal operations, and more.Over the past 9+ years, I’ve worked across industries including Professional Services, Biotech, Energy, Healthcare, Software, Media, Industrial, Consumer Technology, and Consumer Goods. I’ve recruited for a wide variety of roles — from C-suite executives to VPs to MBAs and early career talent — across PE funds, portfolio companies, startups, and public/private companies.I graduated from the University of Illinois (ILL!) and now live in Old Town. Outside of work, you can usually find me at Barry’s Bootcamp, walking to the lakefront with a book, or hanging out in my favorite neighborhood spots. I love spending time with my niece and nephews, going to concerts, listening to memoirs, and browsing Reddit rabbit
