ABOUT MARYAM ZIAEI

I am a healthtech innovator and business leader with over 15 years of experience bridging breakthrough science, commercialization strategy, and patient access. My career spans academia, startups, and government — from pioneering AI-enabled imaging technologies to scaling agency-wide commercialization frameworks at ARPA-H. What drives me is a simple mission: ensuring transformative technologies don’t remain in the lab, but reach the people who need them most.As Director of the Technology Transition and Transfer Division (T3X) at ARPA-H, I lead agency-wide commercialization efforts, scaling initiatives such as the Commercial Mentor Program and the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence network. These efforts connect innovators with C-suite mentors, de-risk market pathways, and accelerate FDA, IP, reimbursement, and fundraising milestones. Previously, I co-founded iSono Health, where I led the company from its foundation to FDA clearance of the first AI-driven, wearable breast health platform — securing venture and government funding while building cross-sector partnerships to bring early detection to women worldwide.I bring to the table a unique blend of deep technical expertise (Stanford Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, MEMS/nanosystems) and strategic execution (startup founder, government leader, commercialization strategist). Today, I am committed to advancing healthcare access, mentoring the next generation of innovators, and shaping conversations at the intersection of science, business, and policy.
