ABOUT MARYAM NEHRIR
I am a CCDP® (Certified Career Development Practitioner) with extensive experience in the career development and adult education industries, working with diverse groups of clients including newcomers, internationally educated professionals, international students, and entrepreneurs. The results of my last Clifton Strengths assessment are: Adaptability Connectedness Relator Context Empathy My core competencies include coaching, advising, facilitating, designing, and developing career and professional development content on topics such as job search strategies, intercultural communication, leadership, professional presentation, negotiation, business etiquette, LinkedIn, informational interviews, resume writing, job interviews, etc. Prior to my transition to career services, I worked in the adult education industry for over 10 years during which I developed expertise in creating and delivering ESL (English as a Second Language) program content tailored towards various levels and backgrounds. I am passionate about empowering my clients with the skills, tools, and resources they need to navigate the Canadian labor market, communicate their value, and maximize their potential. Also, I’m a proud cool aunt to three amazing kids, an urban cyclist, a tango dance learner, and an arts and culture enthusiast. These parts of my life bring joy, balance, and inspiration to my professional world. Both as a coach and an educator my priority is to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive space where everyone feels respected and valued. I welcome any opportunity to connect and collaborate with other professionals.
