About Maryama Thiam
Hello! My name is Maryama Thiam, and I graduated from the University of Rochester in May 2025 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in American Sign Language. I am passionate about pursuing a career in law, with a particular focus on international law and social justice.During my time at Rochester, I gained extensive experience in community advocacy as President of both the Refugee Student Alliance and the Pan African Student Association, where I worked to foster inclusion, advocate for underrepresented communities, and lead impactful initiatives. I also serve as Co-Founder of Trésor des Mères, a nonprofit dedicated to providing care packages for patients in Senegal and advocating for improved conditions in under-resourced hospitals.My experiences have strengthened my skills in leadership, communication, and cross-cultural engagement, and I remain committed to creating meaningful change globally.
