About Maryam Anis

With over 7 years of work experience in the field of research and administration, I am a certified clinical research professional (CCRP) who is passionate about advancing scientific knowledge and improving health outcomes. I have a strong background in urology oncology and psychiatry, and I am skilled in conducting, coordinating, and managing research projects. I am currently working as a research coordinator at Houston Methodist, where I support the department of neurology in various clinical trials and studies. I am motivated by the mission and vision of Houston Methodist, and I strive to contribute to its culture of excellence, innovation, and compassion. I value teamwork, collaboration, and diversity, and I enjoy working with colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines.In my current role, I am responsible for overseeing the recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow-up of research participants, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards, and maintaining accurate and complete documentation and records. I also assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting, and communicate with investigators, sponsors, and other stakeholders. Additionally, I have been involved in several publications and acknowledgments, demonstrating my research skills and dedication. One of the projects that I am particularly proud of is the Clinic for International Trauma Survivors, where I serve as an administrator and coordinator. This is a nonprofit organization that provides mental health services and support to refugees and immigrants who have experienced trauma, violence, and displacement. I have been working with this organization since 2019, and I have helped to organize events, raise funds, create media content, and reach out to the community. Through this project, I have learned a lot about the challenges and needs of this vulnerable population, and I have developed a deeper empathy and respect for their resilience and strength.
