Purpose / Summary: This position is accountable to manage all material (components, assemblies, finished product) related to new product development and continuous engineering in the Nashville Design Center. This includes engineering mock-ups, prototypes, and competive samples. Essential Functions Develops and maintains database for part ordering, tracking, disposition Given detailed components list, quantity, and source provided by the engineer, this person will order, track, expedite components for models and prototypes. Receives, stores, moves, material and maintains inventory accuracy within development center Identifies storage space needs, allocates, and adjusts as required. Implements developmental (pre-production) engineering change orders Provide assembly, disassembly, and disposition assistance Operates equipment to make minor modification to components for assembly Coordinates with customer to prioritize, schedule, and meet expectations Assigns work and supervises the model assembly shop technician Maintains model assembly shop area including equipment to ensure SPS (Schneider Production System) principles are followed (ie safety, ergonomics, environmental standards, short-interval management techniques, standardize area work processes, master production schedule, measure, etc. Drives safe work practices in model assembly shop area
