Mary co-founded Tierney in 1989, one of the mid-Atlantic regions\'s largest communications agencies and a part of the Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG). During Mary’s tenure, the agency represented industry leaders including McDonald\'s, Comcast, TD Bank, Cencora, Choice Hotels, Independence Blue Cross and PECO Energy. Tierney received multiple creative awards for its breakthrough client work and was recognized for its workplace culture and civic contributions. Tierney became part of Carmichael Lynch headquartered in Minneapolis in May of 2024.
