If I were asked what energizes me the most I would have to say bringing the right people together – the right people with the right attitude and talent at the right time doing the right things…right! And that is how I’ve spent my years in a laboratory leadership position. Retaining talent is the key to a successful operation. My previous laboratory’s high physician satisfaction (seven years straight with a 5-star performance and in 2013 ranked top in the nation by PRC in the 1250 hospital laboratories surveyed by physicians!) and that laboratory’s high employee engagement (2013 Gallup roll-up score at 4.42 is at the 76th percentile with 96% participation) enabled us to maneuver through and adapt to any healthcare change that came our way.
