ABOUT MARY LOCHER
I have years of experience working in early childhood development within educational contexts, including at various public and charter schools, providing on-site program supervision and academic support, and at my community college. These roles align with my dedication to supporting individuals in my communities in building their resilience to best achieve their goals and go beyond their perceived potential. I am passionate about using insights from neuroscience to inform childhood development practices and education. For my undergraduate honors thesis at UC Berkeley, I conducted a research study on high school substance education models and childhood development, advocating for a shift away from abstinence-based approaches to harm reduction programs. A few of my other academic and professional interests include learning & memory, addiction studies, childhood development, the neuroscience of placebo effects, and states of consciousness—key areas that shape how we think, grow, and thrive. I am always happy to connect with others who share a passion for intertwining education, neurobiology, and psychology. Message me to collaborate!
