ABOUT MARY KATE MCGRANAHAN
I received my Master’s in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in May of 2025. I spent my academic career combining my passions for technology and sports, culminating in my thesis which examined how receiving positive messaging from wearable technology during runs affects the mentality of the runner. Now, I get to combine these passions on a daily basis as a Product Architect at Garmin. I work on a wide array of innovative products that help support activities people are passionate about. As a product architect I get to utilize my experience in software engineering and user experience research, as well as my business development background. I am also a former NCAA Division I distance runner and am continuing to pursue my running career on the roads while working at Garmin.
