About Mary Glossop
Mary is a recent Medical Laboratory Science and NEXT Apprenticeship graduate from the University of Cincinnati\'s College of Allied Health Sciences. In 2016, she received a diagnosis of acute gluten and dairy sensitivities, as well as a few other chronic illnesses. Having completed an independent study on the effects of food intolerances and their genetic locations in plant species, she aspires to continue such research, ultimately entering the field of immunology as an advocate for underrepresented diseases. Outside of her career and extracurricular endeavors, she founded the Glossop Family Educational Foundation (GFEF), which partners with Bold.org to create grants and scholarships for students who have struggled with medical issues or are from low-income backgrounds. Eventually, she aspires to expand more into the non-profit realm and provide food sensitivity testing and education where these services are not traditionally available. So far, Mary has been recognized for her advocacy efforts by the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People With Disabilities, the Proctor and Gamble Foundation, and the Association of Food and Drug Officials. She also serves on the Ohio Board of Directors for the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and represents the state as an ambassador for the Chronic Disease Coalition. In 2022 and 2023, she additionally gained features in The Scholarship Guru’s online books and courses for her educational achievements.With several years of laboratory, teaching, technical writing, and graphic design experience, she always looks for ways to learn, improve, and uplift and educate those around her.
