ABOUT MARY GALE GURNSEY
I began my career working as a teacher in a school with children who were identified as emotionally disturbed. I loved working with a team of people who got together on a daily basis in order to help provide a better future for these children. This experience was the beginning of my love for systems therapy. It was clear to me that trying to change the child alone (the traditional approach) was not going to work, that the entire system had to work together to create lasting change. Since then I have had so many wonderful experiences working with couples, families, and individuals using a systems approach. I love having the ability to help others and see lasting changes in their lives. I am currently practicing in Westchester County and New York City. My primary focus is on relationships, attachment, and trauma.
