ABOUT MARY E. WHISENAND
Change truly is the only constant. After serving 29 years for various business units within Marsh McLennan and AMBA, I made the change to an entrepreneurial organization at GradGuard. I am working to facilitate new products for GradGuard and Next Generation Insurance to offer to colleges, universities and K-12 education facilities. Prior experience includes leading a direct to consumer business working with senior business leaders to design, implement and monitor the delivery of insurance products to professionals. I was the lead for AMBA\'s campus programs which focused on general liability and accident insurance programs for higher education institutions. I have also worked in the marketing area of an Iowa-based insurance carrier, served as the licensing and commissions supervisor for a leading Life & Health Broker in Southern California, and as a brokerage assistant to the president of a privately held financial consulting firm. Upon my return to Iowa I began a carrier with Kirke-Van Orsel (now Association Member Benefits Advisors/AMBA) as an underwriting technician for Lawyers\' Professional Liability Insurance. From my underwriting background, I moved to work in the sales and association client management areas of our business. I am a Registered Professional Liability Insurance Underwriter (RPLU) with the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and I hold an Associate in Underwriting (AU) from the Insurance Institute of America. Specialties: I have written and presented Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars to Bar Associations, webinars to dietetic professionals and trained colleagues in sales and service. Seminar topics range from Disaster Planning/Recovery to ethics related to coverage triggers in professional liability insurance. I am familiar with professional liability insurance for many professions including dietictans, dentists, lawyers, accountants, realtors, appraisers and insurance agents.
