ABOUT MARY CERULLI
I am a former financial services professional with over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry. Currently I am a member of MassPRIM\'s Stewardship & Sustainability Committee and a member of Maryland’s public pension fund Climate Advisory Panel. Climate Finance Action works to build tables of climate finance activists in key states to work collaboratively with state treasury offices and public asset owners to use the all the power they have to influence climate in substantive ways. We are also deeply invested in flexibility to develop a strategy that is based on the interests and capacities of stakeholder and activists within each state and at each institution. While we believe this work is urgent, we also see it is essential to build power in these states and develop an understanding of the way that our largest public assets are in effect supporting climate practices that hurt and help our communities. Like all good organizing, we start by listening to the groups in states and cities. For example, much of our current outreach focuses on national labor unions and their locals, and grassroots organizations in communities of color. As we navigate strategy development with these groups, we want to be as strategic as possible about what will help the groups build power and effectively work collaboratively with the public officials in charge of pension funds to use all the power they have to push for change.
