About Mary Box
I am a conductor and pianist, specializing in coaching opera singers. As the founder of the Montrose Project, I am currently leading an initiative to research, perform, and record arias by women opera composers. As a pianist, I played over forty opera productions across the United States including at The Dallas Opera and Minnesota Opera. Then, to learn the art of conducting, I participated in conducting workshops across the world conducting orchestras in seven different countries.My journey into the opera world began with a Vocal Coaching Master\'s at Rice University, where I had the honor of studying under Tom Jaber, Richard Bado, Joseph Li, Grant Loehnig, and Bethany Self. I\'m thrilled to continue my musical pursuits and see where this incredible path takes me next!
