About Mary Banks

Working as an educational consultant to provide different populations w/excellent admissions and career advice. Have worked across functions both at the undergraduate level and at the graduate level to provide a resource for students in situations where they are frequently overlooked. I work on behalf of students who are focused on the competitive admissions process. My role is always that of an educator, who provides services beyond \"teaching\" and who plays an integral role in the lives of all with whom I engage. My goal is to build relationships that will last far longer than the admissions experience. After teaching for over 16 years as an \"urban\" educator, my studies at Columbia brought me into the world of higher education. My expertise in working across various functions and groups has given me the background to move into many different professional roles: Admissions, Financial Aid, Athletics, Student Affairs/Services, Executive Education and Careers. Success has come in the form of a continuum of connections with students I have advised across many years of service. Continuing to perform at this level is something that keeps my vision on the future. Specialties: Team building, negotiations, strategy development, working in both the private and public sectors, fund raising.with a focus on the applicant! Enjoy the MBA population but am equally at ease w/other academic pursuits.
