I build financial and people systems that actually live up to the justice values nonprofits post on their walls.After 30+ years working across nonprofit finance, HR, and operations, including 13 years leading finance and administration at Funders for LGBTQ Issues, I now lead Marvin Webb Micro Consulting (MWMC), where I serve as a fractional CFO and CHRO to mission-driven organizations.Through MWMC, I help nonprofits: Design financial and people strategies that support sustainable growth and long-term impact Embed DEI principles into budgeting, compensation, and people practices in real, measurable ways Use thoughtful automation and “small bets,” including AI, to unlock capacity without burning people outAgain and again, this work surfaced a pattern I couldn’t ignore. Brilliant finance, HR, operations, and executive leaders were burning out inside opaque, unstable organizations. At the same time, justice-aligned nonprofits that were trying to do better struggled to signal that reality to candidates.Nonprofit Operations (NPO) grew directly out of that consulting insight. I co-founded it with Ollin Rodriguez-Lopez as an extension of our advisory work and a tool for greater sector transparency.NPO is the only job portal serving nonprofit finance, HR, operations, and executive director roles that analyzes the last three years of 990s using 10 nonprofit-specific financial ratios.Through NPO, we: Help job seekers find meaningful, sustainable, values-aligned roles where pay, financial health, and leadership equity are visible up front Help nonprofits turn financial transparency into a hiring advantage that attracts leaders who understand nonprofit reality Support NPO with a weekly newsletter: Moving Forward Before consulting, I spent 17 years as a professional modern dancer in NYC, while earning an MFA in modern dance. That life shaped how I work: discovery, discipline, adaptability, and respect for craft.
